Lessons Learned from Gender Action Plans Toward the New UNCCD Strategic Framework
On 19 August 2026, as gender, Rio Convention synergies and civil society engagement remained blocked from the negotiating floor at UNCCD COP17, the CBD Women's Caucus, FARN, WEDO and the Women and Gender Constituency brought the conversation into a room that parties can't block. Speakers from the CBD, UNFCCC, UNCCD and the Government of Armenia compared what has worked in implementing their respective Gender Action Plans — and what the new UNCCD Strategic Framework needs to get right.
