Submission on the inclusion of additional headline, component and complementary indicators for the monitoring framework for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

At its sixteenth meeting, the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity adopted Decision 16/31 on the monitoring framework for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF). The CBD Women’s Caucus, alongside relevant Parties and key stakeholderswas invited to provide inputs on  the Inclusion of Additional Headline, Component, and Complementary Indicators for the KM-GBF Monitoring Framework

The submission recommends indicators that capture women’s participation and leadership, women’s land and resource rights, direct access to finance, protection of women environmental human rights defenders, and gender-responsive governance. Together, these proposals aim to improve accountability and ensure that progress towards the KM-GBF reflects both environmental outcomes and social justice.
