COP17 represents a decisive moment for biodiversity and for gender justice. In Yerevan, Armenia, the world reviews its progress under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, halfway to 2030.

Women from all corners of the world, as actors, stewards and leaders of biodiversity action, have come together in a powerful movement to make this moment count. Gender justice is not a side issue but a cross-cutting priority, and a condition for reaching every target.

It is time for decision-makers to commit to the transformative change that is needed, ensuring a future where women and biodiversity thrive together.

It provides text-based recommendations for each agenda item under consideration and highlights where stronger gender-responsive approaches are needed, so that gender justice and women’s rights are fully integrated into the decisions adopted at COP17.
